What is a reaction time test?
A reaction time test measures how fast you respond to a visual or audio signal. When the screen turns green (or you hear the beep), click as fast as you can. Your time is measured in milliseconds (ms). The average human reaction time is around 273 ms — the top 25% of people react in under 255 ms, the top 10% under 235 ms, and the elite top 1% under 190 ms.
How it works
- Classic mode: click when the red panel turns green. 5 attempts, we show your last, best and average.
- F1 Lights mode: five red lights light up one by one, then go out — react like an F1 driver at the race start.
- Sound mode: wait for the beep, then hit your spacebar — tests auditory reaction.
- Spacebar mode: the classic test, played with your keyboard.
- CPS test: how many clicks per second can you do in 5 seconds?
Click too early and it counts as a foul — no cheating the clock. Your history is saved in your browser so you can track improvement over days and weeks, and you can download a shareable score card to challenge friends.
